The mountain of scholar debt many university graduates now face has state policymakers asking a query that has become a no-brainer: Given the growing tuition fee, is a university diploma worth the price of admission?
The solution, consistent with the Colorado Department of Higher Education, is yes — with an essential caveat: a few degrees are worth considerably more than others. At an information conference at the Colorado Capitol on Tuesday, Gov. Jared Polis unveiled the branch’s first “go back on funding” file, an annual price-gain evaluation requested through the legislature in 2018. “The accurate news is, higher education is a great investment — regardless of what subject you pick,” Polis said. The horrific information? For some fields, the economic fee of that investment is murky. Those better profits don’t remember the better value of a bachelor’s diploma.
